Sterling Elementary will continue to support our school-wide initiative—Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).  PBIS helps to create a safe and productive learning environment so that teachers can more effectively engage students for learning.  It includes school-wide procedures and rules intended for both students and staff in all settings. This year we will be focusing on hallway behavior.  You will see these rules posted throughout the school and we encourage you to discuss this rules at home with your child.  Our Jaguar rules are as follows:

Be Safe

Be Polite

Be On Task

Be Trustworthy

The goal is to catch students and provide them with positive feedback on their behavior to create an environment that supports learning.  We hope that you will support the program and help your child get “SPOTTED”.  Remember each month we celebrate “SPOT" behavior with a SPOT TROT.  Parents are always welcome to attend.  Monthly SPOT TROTS will be announced on the website and in the newsletter.
