Mrs. Debbie Lee
I can’t believe that I am beginning my twenty-fifth year in education!  Consequently, there is no better way to start this milestone year than to become the principal at a highly regarded school such as Banneker Elementary.  It seems like just yesterday that I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career  in Warren County, Virginia and was there for 12 years.  During that time, I attended Shenandoah University and subsequently received my Master’s Degree in Education.

After leaving Warren County,  I continued my teaching career in Frederick County, Virginia.  I taught first and second grades during those fifteen years.  I took more classes at George Mason University and received my Administration Endorsement in 1997.

In 1999, I began my administrative career in Loudoun County.  I was very fortunate to spend nine wonderful years as assistant principal at Emerick Elementary in Purcellville.  In July of 2008, I was offered the position of principal at Banneker Elementary.  I am extremely excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with the students, staff and community.
