Course Weighting
Advanced Placement (AP) courses receive a weighting of 1.0.  All AP students are expected to take the AP exam in May.  Those students who do not take the AP exam will not receive the weighted grade.

As of September 2009, honors and dual enrollment classes are weighted 0.5.

Class Rank

In Loudoun County Public Schools only seniors are ranked.  Students receiving an Advanced Studies, Standard, or Modified Standard Diploma are included in the class rank.  Non-graded classes and Pass/Fail classes are excluded from the rank.
