Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader (referred to as "AR") is a computerized reading motivation program for students.  This reading program is designed to allow students to read at their reading level and demonstrate that they have gained comprehension skills.  Typically, this means that the student selects a book at his/ her level, reads the story , and answers 5- 10 questions about the story.  The student then receives a score based on the number of correct answers. Computers for testing are located in the classroom and the library. Classroom teachers determine grade level goals for students to work towards.
