Welcome second graders! I hope you and your family are having a fun summer. I am off to New England to visit family and the beach. I hope to read some good books while I am there! It would be wonderful if you were doing some summer reading as well. I know the public library has a great summer program so be sure to stop in there and get signed up. If you read at least twenty minutes a day I know you will be ready for second grade! I would recommend some of my favorite books such as Frog and Toad, Henry and Mudge, and Mr. Putter and Tabby to name a few. Also, practice some of the math skills those amazing first grade teachers went over with you. You can even add up shells and hermit crabs you see on the beach! I look forward to seeing you in September!
