Welcome Back, Dolphins!!

My name is Miss Kathryn Casterline and this is my second year as the school psychologist at Ashburn Elementary.  I am so glad to be back at Ashburn again this year. I will be splitting my time between Ashburn Elementary, Farmwell Station Middle, and Rosa Lee Carter Elementary.

A little bit about me....
I was born and raised in neighboring Fairfax County and I attended James Madison University where I double majored and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and in Media Arts and Design.   Next, I moved to Williamsburg, VA where I completed my graduate work at The College of William and Mary, earning my Master of Education degree and Educational Specialist degree School Psychology.  I am now practicing as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. As a part of my graduate program, I completed a full-time, year long internship right here in Loudoun County Schools! I had the chance to work in so many LCPS schools throughout that year, including Frances Hazel Reid, Legacy, Briar Woods, Creighton's Corner, and more!

One interesting fact about me is that I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and love to study the Italian language. It is hard to learn another language, but I keep working at it! I also love Italian pizza and gelato! I enjoy reading, baking desserts, being outside, swimming, writing, and photography as well.

One of my favorite things about being a school psychologist is getting to visit many classrooms. My job is so lucky! I get to meet so many students, and go to different classes. I also like school spirit days, and giving out Dolphin Dollars so we can meet our big, school-wide goal!

I am very happy to be part of the Ashburn family and I'm looking forward to a great year!

                 **Keep earning those Dolphin Dollars!!**
