Geospatial Science -- Dual Enrollment!
 
Ever heard of the Geographic Information System?  http://http://geospatialrevolution.psu.edu/trailer.php LCPS has a class to teach the basics of this powerful information tool.
 
During the first semester, students learn to use the hardware, software and data of the geographic information systems to capture, manage, analyze and display all sorts of geographically referenced information.  The second semester, students complete an in depth research project.  Students may choose a dual enrollement option through James Madison University.  This class is a weighted credit!
 
Independent Science Research
 
This elective is designed for seniors who fell in love with science research!  This class focusses on sustained scientific inquiry.  Students take responsibility for project development including time lines, collecting data, defending procedures and presenting results.  ISR students will present their findings at the Regional Science Fair and have the opportunity to compete for recognition by numerous organizations and valuable prizes.
