          Mr. Johns and me
Hello!  My name is Bethany Johns, and I am thrilled to be teaching your first graders at Pinebrook Elementary for my second year!  Last year was an exciting experience and I am eagerly anticipating the start of my second year of teaching!
I grew up in West Virginia on a Christmas tree farm with my parents, five younger brothers and sisters, and my grandfather.  I was homeschooled by my amazing mom, who is also a certified teacher.
I moved to Loudoun County when I got married to my wonderful husband Josh.We both enjoy working with children and being outdoors.  I spend my summers working at Camp Highroad in Middleburg where Josh works full-time.
I attended Concord University in Athens, West Virginia where I earned a degree in Elementary Education K-6.  During my time at Concord, I learned from passionate professors who instilled in me their enthusiasm for nurturing and inspiring children with a love of learning.  My professors modeled everything I hope to be as a teacher from genuinely caring about their students to setting high expectations and supporting them until they reach their goals.
I am so excited to guide your students through first grade and watch them grow as they discover more about themselves and the world around them.  It’s going to be year full of memories in Room 4!
