My name is Lori Palmer and I have been teaching SEARCH as a gifted specialist in Loudoun County for seven years. I previously served as a SEARCH teacher at Lowes Island, Meadowland, Cedar Lane, and Creighton's Corner Elementary schools. I have also been a FUTURA teacher at Sanders Corner, Creighton's Corner and Hillside Elementary schools.
For the 2012-13 school year, I will be working at Rosa Lee Carter Elementary school as a SEARCH teacher and overseeing the RenzulliLearning program.
I have a BS degree in Health and Physical Education with a science endorsement from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and a gifted endorsement through the University of Virginia. I am presently working on a MEd degree through Liberty University in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in gifted education.
Prior to moving to Loudoun County in 2006, I spent 18 years moving with my husband and two sons to various military assignments in eight different states. I have worked in numerous public and Department of Defense schools, as well as homeschooled my children during that time. Our oldest son graduated from Stone Bridge High School here in LCPS. He attended a year at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA and transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond where he is studying Political Science and Philosophy. Our youngest son also graduated from Stone Bridge High School and is a freshman at Waynesburg University in PA where he plays football. He is cross enrolled at WVU in the ROTC program where he was blessed to receive an Army ROTC scholarship!
