Note: Mill Run Elementary will have a computer upgrade over the summer. The Accelerated Reader Program will not be supported by LCPS, and as a result, students will not take Accelerated Reader tests after the 2012-2013 school year. The leveled book titles are convenient for parents and students to make summer reading book choices.

Accelerated Reader (referred to as "AR") is a computerized reading motivation program for students.  This reading program is designed to allow students to read at their reading level and demonstrate that they have gained comprehension skills.  Typically, this means that the student selects a book at his/ her level, reads the story, and answers 5- 10 questions about the story.  The student then receives a score based on the number of correct answers.  Computers for testing are located in the classroom and the library.  Classroom teachers determine grade level goals for the students.  A list of Mill Run Elementary's Accelerated Reader books are available below or in hard copy at the Ashburn library.
