The 2012-2013 school year will mark the fifth year of my "unretirement". In June of 2006 I retired from Fairfax County Public Schools after 32 years of teaching first through sixth grades. My husband and I moved from Herndon to Loudoun County in 2007 and I spent lots of time with my 6 grandchildren and working in my garden. Soon I started to miss being “in school”. Substitute teaching seemed like the perfect solution, but before long it just wasn’t enough. I needed my own class. Luckily in August of 2008, the opportunity to come to Middleburg Elementary came my way! Nothing could make me happier. My fourth class of 5th graders has just graduated and now I'm ready to learn about my new students.
Becoming ecoming a part of the Middleburg family is the perfect way to spend my “Un”retirement
