Mrs. Newlon![]() Welcome to First Grade | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dear Parents, Hi! I'm Caroline Newlon, your child's first grade teacher. I attended Mary Washington College and graduated with a BS in Psychology and an elementary certification. This is my seventh year at Meadowland! I love children and teaching and have 3 children of my own. My oldest, Josh, graduated from Bridgewater College. Sarah is in grad school at James Madison University and Hannah, my baby, is a sophomore at JMU. Please refer to the monthly newsletter for curriculum updates and information. I will update this website to inform you of the happenings in our classroom. Our first units of study will be Friends, Rules and Safety. In math we are working on collecting and representing data. If you have something to share with us at anytime please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your child. I will be giving you an overview of our year at Back to School Night on September 6. I want to keep an open line of communication between home and school. Remember that you may contact me at school (571-434-4440) or by email. I am usually at school until at least 5pm daily. Thanks in advance for all of your support! Here is a schedule of our first grade week. Homework is sent home each Monday. It is due each Friday.
Please remember appropriate shoes for PE on Monday,Wednesday and Friday. Return library books on Thursday!
