In 1950, the town re-activated its 1876 charter, and the first meeting of the Town Council was held in Council member Grubb's home. Subsequent meetings were held at Brown's (now Loudoun) Funeral Parlor. When Farmers and Merchants Bank (now BB&T) opened a branch in Lovettsville in 1964, meetings were moved there. The first Town Council meeting held at the present Town Hall occurred on September 25, 1975. The one story brick structure was constructed for $28,000. |
