Laura Giessler ~ Reading Specialist

Laura Giessler has been a Reading Specialist at Leesburg Elementary since 2009. She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Duke University (go Blue Devils!), a Master's from UC-Berkeley in Education, and an Education Specialist degree in Reading from UVA. Prior to working as a Reading Specialist, Mrs. Giessler was a classroom teacher in California, Boston, and Newport News, VA. Mrs. Giessler loves children’s literature and hopes to pass her love for books, reading, and learning on to the students and teachers with whom she works.

Barbara Paciotti ~ Reading Specialist

Mrs. Paciotti has been a reading specialist at Leesburg Elementary since 1996. She earned her undergraduate degree from Alma College in Michigan and her graduate degree from Central Michigan University in Michigan. Mrs. Paciotti is trained in Reading Recovery, Steps to Literacy, and Literacy Framework. She has two children and enjoys biking and reading. This year at Leesburg Elementary the Pathways program and Literacy Framework will continue to be the major focus of her attention. This will promote continuity of the reading and writing program in the primary grades and extend it throughout the school.
