Monday

• Sort your words
• Writing Sort:  Draw columns on your paper for each of your features (i.e. “sh”, “th”, “ch”).  Label each column at the top.  Write your words how you sorted them.

Tuesday

• Sort your words
• Sentences or Story: Choose 12-15 words. Use each word in a sentence. Write the sentence in your notebook. Underline each spelling word that you used. Your sentence should show that you know the meaning of your word.

Wednesday

• Sort your words
• Definitions:  After sorting your words choose 10 words and look up the definitions in the dictionary.  Write the definitions in your notebook.  Try to choose words that you may not be familiar with the meaning.

Thursday

• Sort your words
• Blind Sort:  Draw columns on your page for each feature. Have an adult or older sibling call out each of the words to you to take a practice test.
• Glue your words in your notebook (sorted)

Friday

• Each Friday, students will take a word study assessment.
