Mrs. McClanahan has been teaching in Loudoun County for 26 years.  She has been at Smarts Mill Middle School since it opened. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Mary Washington College and a degree in special education from Old Dominion.  She currently teaches United States History to 1865 to sixth graders. Prior to joining the staff at Smart's Mill, she taught at Loudoun Valley High School, Seneca Ridge Middle School and Harper Park Middle School.
