Depression Awareness
Outreach Program

This program is presented in freshmen health/physical education classes each year by school psychologists, school social workers and guidance counselors to help sensitize students to the signs and symptoms of depression and suicide.  The program uses the acronym
ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell)
to help students remember what to do when they encounter someone who shows signs of depression or suicide. The program also uses a video to illustrate real life scenarios of students in need of help and actions to take to get help.
