Senior Class Dues
The Senior Class dues pay for a variety of activities sponsored for the seniors throughout the year, including Homecoming activities and supplies, the Senior Class Lock in, other Senior Breakfasts and events throughout the year. These smaller events help to build school spirit. As you might expect, much of the cost is associated with graduation, including certain equipment rental costs, flowers and towels for the graduates, programs and a speaker for graduation. We also celebrate at the end of the year with a picnic and a Senior Class Trip. While the Class Trip is not included in the cost of the dues we work hard to keep the cost low.
Freedom Seniors have a strong tradition of giving back to the school and the community, including hosting Blood Drives and providing a gift to the school. The Class of 2011 started a new tradition by hosting a breakfast at the end of the year for the faculty and staff to show their appreciation. The Class of 2013 will initiate Senior Service Day on October 17, 2012 where they will go into the community to perform a variety of community service projects while the underclassmen take the PSAT.
Students whose families are unable to afford the costs associated with graduation (dues, caps and gowns and the Senior Class Trip) are provided with scholarships from the Class fund to ensure that every Senior has the opportunity to celebrate this important milestone. If your family needs assistance please contact your student’s counselor or Mr. Fulton for confidential assistance.
This year, the Senior Class dues may be paid through Balfour while ordering your students’ cap and gown, and/or graduation announcements. Dreamweaver caps and gowns are $47 and dues are $50. Payment for Cap and Gown and Senior Class Dues is due by November 16, 2012. Orders may be paid at the time of order with cash, check or credit card.
