The Academy of Science (AOS) is a magnet program open to all students who are residents of Loudoun County. The cornerstone of science preparation is a ninth/tenth grade integrated science program, which blends the physical sciences of physics, chemistry and earth science into a seamless, inquiry based lab course in preparation for advanced coursework. The Math program offers courses from Algebra and Trigonometry through Multivariable Mathematics.  Students attend the AOS on alternating days, taking science, math, and research courses at the Academy and all other subjects at Broad Run HS on the opposite day. This schedule enables students to maintain involvement in academic and extra-curricular activities at their home school while participating in a research-based challenging math and science program. Please see the AOS website (http://lcps.org/domain/4845) for additional information and admission criteria.  

August 10^th:  Part I  of AOS application posted on the AOS Website.

Saturday, September 8^th,  9:00 a.m. to 12 noon:  Parent/student information session and Open House at the  Academy of Science  

Wednesday, September 26^th @ 11:59 p.m.  Absolute deadline to submit Part One of the AOS application for the 2011-12 admission process. No applications will be accepted after this date.

 Saturday, October 20^th: PSAT administered at Dominion High School for all AOS applicants.  Upon completion of PSAT testing students will receive a short break, then complete the writing prompt portion  of the AOS application.

Monday, October 22^nd:  Part II of AOS application posted on AOS Website.  

 Monday, December 17^th @ 11:59 p.m.:  Absolute deadline to submit  Part Two of the AOS application for the 2010-11 admission process.  No applications will be accepted after this date. 

 Friday, March 22^nd: Decision letters postmarked to applicants.
