I am happy to be back for my fourth year at Pinebrook! I live in Clarke County, VA, with my husband and 2 year old yellow lab, Howie. My son graduated from UVA and is working in Vail, Colorado. My daughter is attending the University of South Carolina.
I have a BS from the University of Virginia and an MS from Gallaudet University. My work experience includes many years in private practice and public schools in Maryland and Virginia. I have worked with all ages and types of speech issues, including fluency, autism, apraxia, language, articulation, cleft palate, and hearing impairment.
I provide speech services for students with communication delays both in a resource room and in the classroom. In addition, I help with speech and hearing screenings for new students, and do speech/language evaluations for students referred through the Child Study Committee. Although we work hard in speech therapy, I try to keep speech fun! I firmly believe that students have to first experience the joy that comes from communicating, before they will be comfortable enough to participate in the classroom environment.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about speech services
