Falcon Hockey History
For the 2006-07 winter season, Briar Woods HS teamed up with several players from Park View HS to field an ice hockey team.  In its inaugural season, the Briar Woods/Park View Ice Hockey team was undefeated at the junior varsity level of the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League.  The Falcons played at the varsity level for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.  The team made the NVSHL playoffs for the first time at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season.  The 2009-10 team had a record year with 8 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie, and also made it to the quarter finals of the NVSHL playoff tournament.  The 2010-11 team ended up with a record of 7 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie, and also made it to the quarter finals of the NVSHL playoff tournament. Two members of the 2010-11 team were named to the Washington Post All-Met hockey team.  The Briar Woods team is coached by Bill Hughes, who was named the Washington Post 2010 Loudoun County All-Extra Coach of the Year.
