Science 7 Note: If you hear your child talking about a "DOK," they are discussing a summative assessment. Science 7 invites students on certain days to prove their mastery of a standard. A "DOK," or Demonstration Of Knowledge, is one of the many opportunities we provide for students to display this progress.
Tabitha Green (formerly Barr) attended James Madison University and received a degree in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry.After college, she worked in a yeast genetics lab at Johns Hopkins University, then spent several years in the biotechnology industry.During that time, she discovered her love for teaching and went back to school at Marymount University for her Masters in Secondary Education.Ms. Green taught AP Biology, Biology, and Earth Science as a long-term substitute before taking 5 years off to spend time raising her daughter, Cleo.During her hiatus from school, she tutored a variety of students in an array of subjects.Ms. Green is very excited to be teaching 7th grade Life Science at Stone Hill for her fifth year!
Ms. Green loves providing a caring and challenging environment in which her students can succeed.For her, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is showing the students the “fun in learning” and encouraging them to exceed their own expectations.
