Welcome to Mrs. Horne's Homepage!
 
 Mrs. Horne received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education grades 4-7 from Longwood College and has a Keyboarding endorsement. Her experience includes teaching at the upper elementary level, remedial reading and math, and middle school Social Studies.
 Keyboarding is a one semester Career and Technical Education course. Students will be introduced to the touch system of entering alphabetic information the first nine weeks. The second grading period they will learn the numeric and symbol keys and apply their skills to production of business letters and MLA style reports. Throughout the semester students will demonstrate various workplace readiness skills such as personal qualities, people skills, and professional/technology knowledge.
Materials needed for this course:
  • One 1”-2" three ring binder for keeping notes, graded assignments and handouts
  • Four page dividers with tabs that may be labeled (may be home-made) 
  • Pen/pencil and 10 sheets of lined notebook paper to take notes
  • USB/flash drive
  • Suggestion: a box of self-adhesive reinforcements for heavily-used pages, 1-2 highlighters
