Ms. Swierczynski is the Reading Specialist at the Douglass School and has completed her fourth year at Douglass.  She taught in Warren and Frederick Counties and spent the last two years teaching Reading at a high school in Silver Creek, New York.    Ms. Swierczynski is a New York State native and graduated from State University of New York at Fredonia.  She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Early Childhood. Upon completing her Bachelor’s Degree, she continued her education at SUNY Fredonia and was awarded a Master’s of Science in Reading Education.  Ms. Swierczynski has worked with students of all grade levels.  She enjoys sharing her love of reading and focusing on  promoting Literacy throughout Douglass Community School. 

 

The role of the Reading Specialist at Douglass has several roles.  Ms. Swierczynski teaches 21st Century Literacy Strategies, as well as collaborating with teachers on implementing Reading Strategies into the content areas.
