Assistant Principal

Mrs. Simmons is a 28 year veteran of education with 24 of those years in Loudoun County Public Schools. While at Seneca Ridge Middle School, she taught 8th grade English and then became a Dean for 7th and 8th grade students. She was a Dean at Stone Hill Middle School from its openning in 2006 until November of 2008. She has been the Assistant Principal as Douglass for almost three years.

           Prior to teaching in Loudoun County, she taught 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English in Fauquier County Public Schools.
 
She also taught English as a Second Language to adults, and GED preparation classes as well as Adult Basic Education classes for Fauquier County Public Schools.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia State University, a Master of Arts degree in English from Virginia State University, a Master of Science in Education degree in Administration from Shenandoah University. She is a member of the first University of Virginia Foreign Language Institute 1981: German Program.


             Mrs. Simmons is a lifelong learner and believes that education is about encouraging and nurturing true learning in our schools.
